And I have left over photos from D.C. so here goes nothin!
Once again, my Boise bud James.
Just cool stuff, we spent a bunch of time hanging around the capital, the building is really pretty, but it wasn't as exciting as being in Wedel to be honest ;)
inside of the main dome in the capital
These two are the fabulous Idaho friends that have been with me in Washington and now Hamburg. Its nice to be with natives :)
Yay Abraham Lincoln!
I didn't take too many pictures around D.C. because I felt way too touristy and I was a grumpy butt the whole time anyways because it was hot.
Now that I'm in Wedel, maybe I'll get around to more pictures :)
My name is Victoria Tanner and this is a continuation of my old blog, One Year in Deutschland. Since Setember of 2014, I have moved back in with the Kless family and plan on working and studying here. I am a Boise High School Graduate and completed a year with the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange. Enjoy the blog!

Here!
So today (today and yesterday and technically tomorrow) has been quite the rollercoaster. But finally, after three days in D.C., a five hour wait for our flight, an eight hour flight, a four wait in the Frankfurt airport, and one of the most stressful train rides on this planet earth (six hours), I finally arrived in Wedel in a snazzy awesome German Audi!
Julie and Armin are taking good care of me and I can't wait for the rest of my family to get here.
Yay! Julie is like a new sister and I'm so thankful she's here as well.
This is going to be an extraordinary experience, homesickness and missing my boyfriend will be part of it as well, but its all going to making me a stronger person.
DEUTSCHLAND!

Ugh Airport Internet is horrible.
Ohmygosh. So I'm sitting here by the gate, working with the slowestt to internet on earth. After a "invald reservation" and lots of waiting in line, I'm about to board my flight Frankfurt. From there on is a train ride to Hamburg, and a pick up from there to Wedel. Its been a weird last few days, but very fun. (yes mom I've been eating and sleeping enough)
So, in a few hours I shall be on an eight hour flight.
We're riding a double decker airplane (awesomeREALLYSCARY)
I'm ready to be there.
I was ready three days ago. :P

Super Duper Generic Post About our Country
I'm sure most of you have been to Washington D.C. before and have seen all the funky monuments and museums and stuff. But! Since this is my first time being anywhere cool, I decided that pictures would be appropriate. I did not take pictures in the natural history museum though, due to the fact that you've probably already seen those on your grandmother's facebook.
So first we start off with James, my Boise buddy who's been kind enough to show me around. I'm sure he's pretty sick of me complaining about the heat and not having water all day. I'm so glad he's been here though, I wouldn't have made it through the airports without him.
We drove around for a bit and ended up on a tour bus thing at the Arlington National Cemetery. It was interesting, very surreal. Here is the eternal flame by the Kennedy graves.
Robert E. Lee's House! Whoo APUSH!
Iwo Jima, as you can tell its very hot and I've been complaining about forgetting bottled water for the last hour.
More funky fresh photos of this gorgeous city (reminds me of portland?)
So yeah! Day one in D.C.!
Tomorrow I have meetings with congressmen and stuff and then I pack when I get back to the hotel because I leaving wednedsay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally!!!
Yay! Tours and stuff! My nose!

Changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown. Very cool, very proper, very kind of odd? But respectful? Yes. I wasn't aware this happened all the time.
Hey APUSH friends! This is part of the USS Maine, the ship that started what war!??! :DIwo Jima, as you can tell its very hot and I've been complaining about forgetting bottled water for the last hour.

The Capital!
So here I am! I went on my first plane ride ever and was able to make it from Boise to Denver, and finally to Washington D.C.
I'll be here until this Wednesday doing tours and orientations with the other 50 kids.
Being so far away from family is different...but good. Feels like I'm growing up :)
I miss Boise, its way too humid here on the other side of the country, I feel like I'm drinking the air I breathe.
Hotels are fancy :) I went swimming and took a long shower.
I'm so excited. I hope these days in Washington go by quickly so I can get to Deutschland!!

Almost time!
I now have exactly a week left in Boise. I'm certainly going to miss it here. My bags are all packed and ready and my sister is already taking over my room. The closer it gets, the more nervous I become. School starts four days after I arrive in Wedel, but thankfully through the grace of facebook, I've already been able to make a few friends.
I'm excited. Nervous. Really scared.
But none the less ready for the challenge.
I hope my flights all go well, I've never flown before...
but hey, go big or go home right?
